SpeedBit VideoAcceleratorService.exe looping?
This AM I noticed that lsass.exe was consuming a lot of CPU (maybe 30%). Since that's effectively the signon subsystem, I suspected some other program was hitting it hard and indeed found VideoAcceleratorService.exe from SpeedBit.com running maybe 20%. (And I wasn't viewing any videos.) After futzing around a bit I finally figured I could stop VAS through Services, and, indeed, when I did stop it the system quieted down nicely. Restarted VAS and both it and lsass.exe seem to be behaving.
My main concern is that it seems to me that VAS could somehow be hijacked by a bot, and this would never be noticed since VAS normally produces a lot of network activity.
Is there something to be concerned about here?
