Can't access to GRUB menu because of blinking screen

Can't access to GRUB menu because of blinking screen

I am using Samsung 350U2B (i5, 4GB RAM, 1TB) I use dual boot. So, what happened was, I was running in windows 7 when I decided to close my laptop. Closing the lid means my computer was in Sleep mode. After about an hour or so, I opened it and the "samsung recovery" program was on the screen. I thought it was an error, so I restarted it by pressing the on/off button. After I turned it on, I got the purple screen, expecting that the grub menu would show. But after few seconds (~2 secs) it went black. Then it went to purple then black again. I am not sure if it could be appropriately called "blinking screen" but whatever. Even after restarting the computer, the same thing happened. What could be the problem? but most importantly, how can I fix this? Thanks guys.
PS:I also tried booting from a live usb, but choosing any of the options: check without installing, install ubuntu, check disk) will lead to a magenta (?) blank screen. I can access the grub command line (grub>) but I don't have any idea what command to put. :(
