RemObjects Software Announces Oxygene 5 with Added Support for Java and Android

Hanover Park, IL (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

RemObjects Software, a leading creator of components and tools for software developers, announces the release of Oxygene 5 which nows comes in two flavors: Oxygene for .NET and the new Oxygene for Java. This brings the power and flexibility of the Oxgyene Language to the entire Java platform, including Android and BlackBerry.

Oxygene is an evolution of Object Pascal, the language that powers Embarcadero's Delphi Prism. The original Oxygene for .NET offered by RemObjects set out to bring a modern, next generation Object Pascal to the .NET world. Oxygene for Java, formerly known as ?Project Cooper? in beta, is taking this endeavor to the next level, with Oxygene now reaching the two leading development platforms. This includes native support for the Android, Windows Phone 7, and BlackBerry mobile platforms.

Oxygene for .NET remains the key technology behind Embarcadero Prism XE2 for the .NET and Mono Frameworks. For developers already using Prism, Chief Architect at RemObjects Software, marc hoffman, states, "The new Oxygene for Java provides essentially the same development experience as the .NET product, including the same core compiler and IDE integration ? but also new Java-specific features such as Android tool chain integration and Java debugging."

Oxygene for Java combines the full range of language features found in the Java Language itself alongside the wide range of powerful features and concepts that already made Oxygene for .NET the language of choice for many developers. Features include Class Contracts, deep language integration of parallelism and concurrency, and many more.

According to the RemObjects Chief Architect, Oxygene for .NET is immediately available in Prism XE2. Oxygene for Java is available for preorder with immediate beta access and an expected shipping date of later this year. When the new Java product ships, RemObjects will also have an update for Oxygene for .NET in Prism XE2 to provide additional enhancements and to sync the two products. An attractively priced bundle with both Oxygene for Java and Oxygene for .NET (via Prism XE2) is available for those developers who want to target both platforms.

Oxygene includes the Visual Studio 2010 Shell IDE, or can integrate with full versions of Visual Studio 2010, if they are already installed, allowing developers to use Oxygene in the same IDE as C# and Visual basic, if so desired. This gives Oxygene developers access to many of the tools included in the Visual Studio and .NET tool chains.

About RemObjects Software :

RemObjects Software is a leading creator of components and tools for software developers with a strong focus on creating solutions that help build the very foundations and the core infrastructure of customer projects. Its top product is Data Abstract, a cross-platform multi-tier database application development framework for .NET, Xcode and Delphi.

RemObjects Software?s philosophy is to supply the best possible solution for each supported platform ? Microsoft .NET, Apple Xcode, Java and Delphi ? rather than providing a one-size-fits-all solution that uses the lowest common denominator approach. This ensures that developers on any platform can work with tools that are native to their development environment, fit in well with their existing architecture and integrate exquisitely with the platform in question while still being compatible, both in terms of interoperability between platforms as well as transfer of experience, with RemObject?s products from one platform to the other.
